Nosy Be 360° Experience

Overview

If you only have one day to discover Nosy Be, this excursion offers an excellent introduction to the island’s wildlife, landscapes and local culture.

The day combines three of Nosy Be’s highlights: the island’s villages and spice plantations, the rainforest of Lokobe Reserve, home to black lemurs and chameleons, and Mont Passot, the highest viewpoint on the island.

From traditional canoe crossings and rainforest walks to panoramic views over crater lakes and the Mozambique Channel, this excursion provides a complete overview of Madagascar’s most famous island.

The Experience

Departure takes place around 8:00 AM from your hotel in Nosy Be.

The morning begins with a drive across the island, passing local villages and plantations of ylang-ylang, vanilla, coffee, pepper and tropical fruit trees that have made Nosy Be famous as the “Perfume Island”.

The excursion then continues to Ambatozavavy, where a traditional canoe awaits for the crossing to Lokobe Reserve, the last remaining primary rainforest on Nosy Be.

Upon arrival, enjoy a guided walk through the forest in search of black lemurs, chameleons, geckos and other endemic wildlife. Local guides are remarkably skilled at spotting animals hidden among the vegetation.

After returning by canoe, lunch is served before continuing the island tour.

During the afternoon, discover more of Nosy Be’s villages, beaches and landscapes before reaching Mont Passot, the island’s highest point.

From the summit, enjoy spectacular views over Nosy Be, its volcanic crater lakes and the surrounding islands scattered across the Mozambique Channel.

After enjoying the scenery and taking photographs, return to your hotel during the late afternoon.
