This adventure tour in Madagascar takes you on an unforgettable journey from the lush green landscapes of the East to the striking red lands of the West. From Antananarivo, the capital perched on the High Plateaux, the journey begins towards Andasibe, a true nature sanctuary where humid forests shelter the famous Indri-Indri. The route then continues to Vatomandry and Mahanoro, where you will enjoy a peaceful cruise along the Pangalanes Canal, passing lakeside villages and authentic scenes of daily life.
Further south, the road leads to Ambohitsara and Mananjary, before entering the tropical rainforest of Ranomafana, one of Madagascar’s most emblematic national parks. Returning to the High Plateaux, discover Ambositra, capital of Zafimaniry craftsmanship, then Antsirabe and Miandrivazo, gateways to the dry regions of western Madagascar.
The adventure continues towards the majestic baobabs and the Kirindy Reserve, home of the mysterious fossa, before reaching Bekopaka and the spectacular Tsingy de Bemaraha, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The journey ends in Morondava, at sunset along the legendary Avenue of the Baobabs, an eternal symbol of Madagascar.
Day 1 – Antananarivo
Arrival at Ivato International Airport according to your flight schedule and transfer to the city center of Antananarivo, the capital built on twelve hills combining royal heritage, cobbled streets and terraced rice fields. Hotel installation.

Day 2 – Antananarivo → Andasibe (approx. 4 hrs drive)
Early departure eastwards along the RN2 towards the eastern coast. Landscapes alternate between rice fields, typical High Plateau hills, eucalyptus forests and craft villages. Lunch stop in Moramanga, then continuation to Andasibe. In the afternoon, visit of the Mitsinjo Reserve, home to chameleons, endemic frogs, rare insects and the iconic indri. At nightfall, guided walk in the VOIMMA community reserve to observe nocturnal lemurs and reptiles.

Day 3 – Andasibe
Full day dedicated to Andasibe-Mantadia National Park, one of Madagascar’s richest biodiversity areas. Approximately four-hour hike through primary rainforest, home to fourteen species of lemurs including the indri, diademed sifaka and bamboo lemur. Also observed are numerous birds, chameleons, geckos and wild orchids. Afternoon visit to Vakona Reserve, where several lemur species move freely near visitors.

Day 4 – Andasibe → Vatomandry (approx. 5 hrs drive)
Morning exploration of Maromizaha Forest, a natural laboratory combining primary forest, secondary forest and savoka. Rich biodiversity including lemurs, amphibians, birds and endemic plants. Then drive towards the east coast to reach Vatomandry, a small port bordered by coconut trees and long beaches along the Indian Ocean.

Day 5 – Vatomandry → Mahanoro (approx. 7 hrs navigation)
Departure by boat for a full day cruising the Pangalanes Canal. Daily life unfolds along the waterway: pirogues loaded with goods, lakeside villages and children playing by the shore. Lunch en route. Arrival in Mahanoro late afternoon.
Overnight camping.
Day 6 – Mahanoro → Ambohitsara (approx. 6–7 hrs navigation)
Continuation of the navigation through wild landscapes bordered by palm trees, dunes and isolated villages. Arrival in Ambohitsara, known for its traditions, pirogue construction and lifestyle shared between canal and ocean.
Overnight camping.
Day 7 – Ambohitsara → Mananjary → Ranomafana (approx. 4 hrs drive)
Short navigation to Mananjary, a peaceful coastal town. After lunch, drive towards the High Plateaux to Ranomafana, famous for its national park and humid rainforest.

Day 8 – Ranomafana → Ambositra (approx. 6 hrs drive)
Morning visit of Ranomafana National Park, a biodiversity sanctuary home to the golden bamboo lemur, red-bellied lemur, rare amphibians, endemic birds and lush vegetation. Afterwards, drive to Ambositra, capital of Zafimaniry craftsmanship.

Day 9 – Ambositra → Antsirabe → Miandrivazo (310 km – approx. 10 hrs)
Morning discovery of Zafimaniry woodcarving workshops. Drive to Antsirabe, a thermal town with colonial charm, including a short rickshaw ride. Continue towards Miandrivazo in the Menabe region.
Hotel: Princess Tsiribihina or similar.
Day 10 – Miandrivazo → Kirindy (350 km – approx. 8 hrs)
Drive west to the Avenue of the Baobabs, Madagascar’s iconic landscape. Arrival in Kirindy in the afternoon, followed by a night visit to the reserve to spot the fossa and nocturnal lemurs.

Day 11 – Kirindy → Bekopaka (160 km – approx. 6 hrs)
Early departure for a second visit of the reserve, then drive to Bekopaka including ferry crossings of the Tsiribihina and Manambolo rivers. Arrival late afternoon.

Day 12 – Bekopaka – Tsingy de Bemaraha
Full day exploring the Tsingy de Bemaraha National Park, a UNESCO-listed limestone labyrinth. Approximate four-hour hike across suspension bridges, karst cathedrals, caves and spectacular viewpoints.
Hotel: Olympe du Bemaraha or similar.
Day 13 – Bekopaka → Morondava (250 km – approx. 9–10 hrs)
Return to Morondava with a sunset stop at the legendary Avenue of the Baobabs, a highlight of the journey.

Day 14 – Morondava → Antananarivo (domestic flight)
Transfer to the airport and flight back to Antananarivo. Hotel installation and free time in the city.
